"why do you laugh like mickey mouse?"
It is not by accident that the “Mickey” has been adopted into my repertoire of laughter. Nor is it coincidental that those happy ears peek over my head every time I speak with a bit of snark or a bemused expression crosses my face. In truth I understand that my observations of others may be received in a light of harshness unintended. So out of a congeniality born of yester year I soften the blow with a familiar relic. I find that people become more accepting of the truth when lulled by the sounds of a more innocuous time. The “Mickey” is really a nonverbal indicator. I use him to telegraph to others that my intention is not to harm- but to educate in an entertaining way. There you have it my darling girl: that is why I laugh like Mickey- that wonderful wistful mouse. Ha-HA!
